Golf

Golf is available to both Girls and Boys.  To be eligible to play on the School's golf team a student needs to have an official ILGU or GUI handicap and be a member of a recognised golf club.

Boys and Girls interested in playing golf should contact Brian Kerley (Golf Pro), Ardee Golf Club.

Girls teams usually consist of 3 players and the Leinster Qualifier normally takes place in March each year. The school has in the past experienced great success in this.

For boys there are two different competitions.  One is the fourball interschool matchplay competition which is normally played in September and October each year.  This is played on a regional basis and if the school qualifies it continues after Christmas.  The other is the singles strokeplay championship where boys play off scratch and it is their gross score that counts.

This year the school was represented in Balcarrick Golf Club by Liam Travers, Ben Caffrey and Conor Meade.  These boys show great potential.

Congratulations to Liam Travers on being selected as Junior Boys Captain for Ardee Golf Club for 2018. The school would like to wish him every success for the year ahead.
