Dear Incoming First Year Student,
As you come to the end of your days in primary school, we want to congratulate you on your graduation. We expect you are looking forward to your summer holidays. However, it will not be long before you are joining us here in Ardee Community School. We are really looking forward to welcoming you to our school community. You will have received an information pack which helps to answer some questions you and your parents/guardians may have about what to expect. It is important that you look at this information pack together.
Your information pack includes the following:
Students Questionnaire can be completed here:
STUDENT QUESTIONNAIRE
Parent/Guardian Questionnaire can be completed here:
PARENT/GUARDIAN QUESTIONNAIRE
We hope you are excited about your big move to secondary school, but we know that you may have a few worries and concerns. We want to reassure you that you will be very well looked after in Ardee Community School. When you come into school at 8.50am on Thursday 25th August you do not need to bring anything with you. You will only be here for a half day, and you will be the only students in the school. You will meet other students in your class, your tutor and your year head, Ms Mary Duffy. On Friday 26th August you will spend more time with your tutor, and you will also meet your mentor. This is a fifth-year student who will be available to support you throughout the year. It is natural to have some worries about things like getting lost or managing your timetable, but you will have lots of help settling in here, so please do not worry.
We look forward to seeing you at the end of August. Best wishes for a lovely summer.
Regards,
Mary Jackson (Principal)
